Our client, a major Oil & Gas operator are looking to add a HSE Senior Advisor to their team working on their processing facility in Algeria.The HSE Advisor will report directly to the IA HSE Manager and will work as a member of the HSE team organization. will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise with improvement and implementation of health, safety, and environmental management programs.This position is responsible for coordinating the administrative HSE activities and functions and will act as a technical consultant to management on all aspects of HSE. In that capacity, this position will work closely with the HSE Manager and Team Leaders to insure that relevant HSE regulations and that personnel are properly trained and equipped to perform their tasks.Job Functions:
  • HSE Management system: Review and improve the HSE procedures to align with industry best practices and legal requirements.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and support the Operations teams with developing risk assessments and associated mitigations.
  • Safety Culture and coaching: Foster a strong safety culture and provide training, coaching, and mentoring to employees and HSE team members.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and develop corrective and preventive actions to prevent future occurrences. and coach the HSE team on this matter
  • Audit and Reporting: Perform regular HSE audits, inspections, and assessments, and support with follow up and improvements.
  • Training and Development: Work with training department on HSE training programs to enhance the skills and awareness of employees and contractors particularly those identified in HSE critical roles.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, or Engineering).
  • Professional certification in HSE.
  • holding valid and different international certificates such as COW authority, HITRA, Safety culture leadership.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HSE roles.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas industry regulations and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Management Systems and effective implementation.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change within an organization.
  • Proficiency in HSE IT tools, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of managing contracts.
  • Proactive - ability to make decisions and initiate actions.
  • A track record of working to international standards.
