We invite you to put your talents and career in motion at Flowserve.We are looking for a Field Service Technician to install, commission, monitor, troubleshoot and repair Flowserve pumps and other equipment at our customers' sites in industries such as oil & gas, chemical, nuclear, coal and wastewater.In this position, the Field Service Technician (FST) provides real-time technical support to our customers and provides recommendations for repairs, upgrades and replacement equipment. The FST actively participates in troubleshooting problems and implementing solutions on site at customer facilities.Your role:Interact by phone and respond to customer inquiries.Assess mechanical problems and take steps to resolve them quickly.Work side-by-side with our customer's personnel and lead work teams as needed.Oversee the complete repair cycle: disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair and assembly.Ensure that equipment is installed correctly and on time.Check equipment before start-up and evaluate performance.Monitor maintenance and performance of Flowserve equipment.Train customers on operating and maintenance procedures for Flowserve products.Collaborate effectively with Flowserve support organizations including repair centers, customer service and sales engineering.Maintain and submit organized and accurate records, including daily reports, jobs quoted, jobs completed, and time and materials billed.Communicate by word and deed Flowserve values of ethics, safety and quality.Other duties as assigned.Your profile:Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years' relevant experience.Knowledge of industrial applications and operations of pumps, valves, seals, actuators and mechanical equipment.Experience installing mechanical equipment.Experience repairing pump equipment, installing mechanical seals, changing faces/seals/O-rings.Proven ability to read and correctly interpret blueprints, technical drawings and schematics.Demonstrate initiative and follow-through, able to work independently with little supervision.Ability to work with Outlook, Word and Excel.An active driver's license with a good driving record is essential to the position.Ability to travel, including internationally, for extended periods.Ability to work overtime as required to minimize impact on customers.Physical activity, including frequently lifting up to 50 pounds or 25 kg, climbing up and down ladders and stairs, and climbing and stretching in, under and around large equipment, often outside of the year.Excellent communication skills.Good organizational skills.Professional certifications in this field.Ability to work collaboratively with unfamiliar teams.
